I find beauty in all aspects of the natural world. From the serene peace that comes with a mountain sunrise to the bewitching dance that takes place between predators and prey, beauty has a way of manifesting itself in many different ways. I find there is something captivating and stunning about the act of hunting. While admittedly a savage act, the grace, strength, and speed of both the hunter and the hunted leaves me speechless.
Besides being interested in nature, I also have an interest in old folk and fairy tails. The truths, lessons, morals that can be learned through nature can also be found in our old stories. This folksy aesthetic has influenced my execution of the print.

Hey guys, I have these awesome hawk prints that I’m selling for dirt cheap. 10 bucks, what a steal! Please take a look. I’m doing a letterpress final that involves a lot of polymer plates. Polymer plates are really expensive and I’m trying to raise $100 for myself so I can purchase the the supplies I need for my final project.
Help a girl out, buy art!

Finally got around to a doing a nice scan of this print.
Two very enjoyable and lovely things.
I’ve been very busy today in the type shop and silkscreening studio. Trying to finish up some posters for tomorrow’s student art sale!
All bundled up and ready for market!
Hooray for Linocuts!
My letterpress project for this week was to make an edition of fifteen Valentie’s Day cards using a combination of linocut images and metal or wood type. I have a bit of extra time on my hands so I’m making two separate editions, these are the covers for the two types of cards.
Prowl
Final book that I made for my artist’s book studio. We were given two weeks for a “freebee” project. Basically the leash was taken off and we were allowed to create anything we desired.
I wanted to have a book that contained original content. I wrote a short poem and based my imagery of the book off of my poem. The act of hunting and killing is violent and messy, so the clean and simple images act as an eery juxtaposition.
